Learning French without stress
I’ve been learning French with Alice for almost a year now, and I really enjoy our lessons. She is very easy-going, explains things in an interesting way and is always happy to adapt the lessons to my current needs. I especially enjoy the topics we explore together and how the lessons have helped me get closer to French culture. My biggest challenge was to start speaking French without feeling stressed, and Alice’s lessons have really helped me with that, even though I still have a lot to learn! I’m Madame, your French teacher.
Bonjour, I’m Alice, the person behind Madame Speaks French.
I’m originally from France, now based in the Netherlands, after years of living in China, Korea, Spain and Iceland. I have always loved languages for the doors they open to new people, new cultures and new ways of seeing the world.
I’m not a traditional classroom teacher. I’m a French language enthusiast with a Voltaire certification, and I create personalised lessons for adults learning French for work, life in France, travel or simply for the joy of discovering something new.
My approach is patient, joyful and practical. You will be corrected, but never judged. We will work seriously without making French feel like school.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me outdoors, playing sports or at the piano. Life is meant to be lived and shared, and I bring that same energy into every lesson.
I’m not here to turn you into a perfect French speaker. I’m here to help you live more of your life in French.
